It is an exceptional way to maximise a property’s value, essentially turning a single property into 2 dwellings, and in some cases each of the dwellings has its own title!

Other advantages of duplexes are the generous amounts of living space they afford, in some cases comparable to stand alone houses. Indeed,  3 or 4 bedroom duplexes are common, with some even having 5 bedrooms, depending on land size.

 

With a Duplex, there is only one adjoining neighbour, which offers a good sense of security without having the feeling of being “closed in” as can be the case in apartments or townhouse complexes. Privacy is never an issue as each side is fenced off and has it’s own driveway and garage.
